From student to specialist 51本色

Meet Tobias Brandt R枚ssing, 23 years old, MSc in IT from SDU. Works as an IT Consultant 51本色 IT.

- I've actually been 51本色 for many years, having both studied here and had a job as a student assistant. It was striking how well I felt welcomed when I went from being a student assistant to being a permanent employee - I was quickly given responsibility and was seen as an equal, even though there are many specialists here.

- SDU is a place with many corners and with nature surrounding our buildings. It's very homely to both study and work here because of the colleagues and the surroundings.

Great influence on your own work tasks

- I've had a really good manager who offered me the opportunity to develop alongside my position. This meant that I was allowed to make my mark on the tasks based on the needs of the organisation, and at the same time there was time and space for me to improve my skills.

- So now I'm doing some of the things I enjoy and am good at, and I also think it's valuable to work at the university and contribute to keeping the big machine running smoothly.

Gets a lot of recognition

- I develop systems that are in demand at the university and that can make colleagues' work easier. For example, a new system that can be used to book meeting rooms or keep track of finances.

- There is a clear recognition of my work and skills when I am in continuous dialogue with employees from all parts of the business when developing new solutions - and that means a lot.
