Under each programme, you can read more about the admission requirements.
How much does an engineer earn?
As a newly graduated Bachelor of Engineering, the expected starting salary is around DKK 45,100 per month. For a Master of Science in Engineering, the indicative minimum salary is slightly higher – about DKK 47,400 per month (IDA, 2025).
How long does it take to become an engineer?
You can become an engineer in different ways. Complete a 3½-year Bachelor of Engineering or a Master of Science, which takes 5 years (3 bachelor + 2 master) or 6 years with the Industrial Master track.
Where can I study engineering?
At University of Southern Denmark, you can study engineering in Odense, Sønderborg or Vejle – your campus depends on your specialisation.
Wherever you go, expect modern facilities, close industry links and a lively, project-driven environment with plenty of teamwork.
What does an engineer do?
As an engineer, you develop solutions to real-world challenges, often working closely with businesses, authorities and researchers. You plan and analyse technical systems, ensure product and process quality and safety, and advise on the practical application of scientific and technical knowledge.
Depending on your specialisation, your work may involve designing and optimising technological solutions or assessing environmental impact and sustainability – in fields such as construction, energy, manufacturing, IT or health technology.
