Teaching Award for inspiring supervision

Last Friday, associate professor Karsten Holm Andersen from the Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller Institute received the Teaching Award of the University of Southern Denmark, among other things for his unusually inspiring supervision and for his energetic work on the Formula Student project.

At the annualcelebrationon Friday 5 October, associate professorKarsten Holm Andersen and four other teacherswere enriched by25.000 Dkr as well as by an honourable title.This took place when rectorJens Oddershede distributed the Teaching Awards of the year.

By the students who nominated him, Karstenis portrayed as an unusually inspiring and helpful supervisor who is ready to provide guidance all around the clock.

Special mention is made of hishuge contribution to theFormula Student project which is an international competition in whichstudents build a racing car and compete with each other at Silverstone in England.

Committed and professionally skilled
In the nomination from the Faculty of Engineering it was said among other things thatKarsten is an unusually committed and well-liked teacher who demonstrates great initiativeregarding both the students,the engineering profession andtheeducational development at the Faculty of Engineering.

Karsten's drive and professionalismmakesitselffelt especially in connection with the fieldof electrotechnics where he is teaching students from both bachelor and master programmes as well as from international programmes.

Great recognition
”I am incredibly proud of and honoured by the Award and by the recognition thus shown to me by students and colleagues”, Karsten says happily.
He also receives apat on the shoulder from his colleagues who describe him as a real teamplayer who enjoys the dynamic created in the cooperation with studentsas well as withcolleagues from all over the University of Southern Denmark.
