At the annual听celebration听on Friday 5 October, associate professor听Karsten Holm Andersen and four other teachers听were enriched by听25.000 Dkr as well as by an honourable title.听This took place when rector听Jens Oddershede distributed the Teaching Awards of the year.听

By the students who nominated him, Karsten听is portrayed as an unusually inspiring and helpful supervisor who is ready to provide guidance all around the clock.听

Special mention is made of his听huge contribution to the听Formula Student project which is an international competition in which听students build a racing car and compete with each other at Silverstone in England.

Committed and professionally skilled
In the nomination from the Faculty of Engineering it was said among other things that听Karsten is an unusually committed and well-liked teacher who demonstrates great initiative听regarding both the students,听the engineering profession and听the听educational development at the Faculty of Engineering.听

Karsten's drive and professionalism听makes听itself听felt especially in connection with the field听of electrotechnics where he is teaching students from both bachelor and master programmes as well as from international programmes.

Great recognition听
鈥滻 am incredibly proud of and honoured by the Award and by the recognition thus shown to me by students and colleagues鈥�, Karsten says happily.
He also receives a听pat on the shoulder from his colleagues who describe him as a real teamplayer who enjoys the dynamic created in the cooperation with students听as well as with听colleagues from all over the University of Southern Denmark.听
