Who are we?
The department currently has two full-time professors. A clinical professor in registry research (osteoporosis) and a clinical professor in hypertension. Both are employed in combined positions under the Department of Regional Health Research 51±¾É«.
Our research
The research includes patients with some of the most common internal medical diseases (such as osteoporosis, diabetes, COPD, hypertension, and ischemic heart disease).
Planned focus areas
- Clinical research using patient-relevant outcome measures - randomized clinical trials, epidemiological studies, and systematic reviews of randomized clinical trials.
- Development, testing, and implementation of eHealth tools to strengthen the treatment and prevention of major chronic diseases such as obesity, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, ischemic heart disease, heart failure, and kidney failure.
- Registry research with a clinical focus
- Research across internal medical specialties, hospitals, and national borders
