Human Health is SDU’s platform for interdisciplinary, practice-oriented research into the human aspects of health and illness.
Human Health brings together strong research environments across the humanities, health sciences, and social sciences.
Our vision is to develop knowledge for a healthcare system that is adaptive and responsive to human differences. And the ambition behind all our projects is to ensure that knowledge about social and humanistic factors becomes an integrated part of the Danish healthcare system.
Human Health research is based on four overarching research approaches:
- Interdisciplinary research across health sciences, social sciences, and the humanities
- Practice-based research through equal partnerships between researchers, the healthcare system, and health organizations
- User-involving research through collaboration with citizens, healthcare professionals, and practitioners as part of the research process
- Complementary research that contributes both to solving practical problems and to the development of foundational research
