Joint workshops with American partners
In connection with the opening of the Green Tech Center staff from Centre for Smart Energy Solutions and visiting partners from the US meet for joint workshops on June 25 and 26.

June 25th and 26th Centre for Smart Energy Solutions held听two workshops one on听Smart Buildings in a Smart Grid at the Green Tech Center and one at IT University of Copenhagen covering present research topics. Both were held听in close collaboration with partners from UC Berkeley, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratorium and听Nasa Ames.
As commercial buildings accounts for approximately 40% of the total energy consumption worldwide, improving energy-efficiency of commercial buildings is essential to ensuring the transition to a sustainable energy system. At the workshop building energy-efficiency from an ICT perspective was discussed. Offset for the workshop was the on-going research at UC Berkeley, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories, IT University of Copenhagen, and University of Southern Denmark. Focus听was on听research activities which can bring building intelligence beyond current building automation and energy management systems. Furthermore,听it was听discussed how this next generation of building intelligence will ensure seamless integration of buildings with micro- and community-scale smart grids. 听 Workshop at IT University of Copenhagen The workshop at IT University of Copenhagen on听June 26th consisted of four sessions. Each session started with lightning talks to present the participants research topics followed by in-depth discussion. 听 The sessions were:
