Katrine is educated as physiotherapist and has 8 years of experience as clinical tutor in physiotherapy along with 2 years experience as leader.聽Subsequently she studied Cand.Scient.San at University of Southern Denmark.
Katrine has just defended her PhD聽dissertation聽entitled:聽"the use of risk assessment tools in the clinical management of osteoporosis". 聽Her聽dissertation proves that risk assessment tools potentially can be uses in the clinical handling of osteoporosis to identify women with an increased risk of bone fracture聽聽instead of the聽case-finding strategy, which is currently used in Denmark and several other countries across the world.聽
Parallel to her PhD-study Katrine has been the day-to-day project leader and data responsible for the ROSE study聽(Risk-stratified Osteoporosis Strategy Evaluation). ROSE is a聽randomized聽study with聽35,000 women from three different sites in the Region of Southern Denmark. The aim of this study is to聽examine whether population surveys (screening) for聽osteoporosis is聽practical and should be established as a routine offer for all women in Denmark.
Throughout both projects Katrine has worked with development and聽validation of questionnaires, conducted randomizations, inclusion and聽development of data bases along with interconnector of data from registries, handling, coding and purification of data from various Danish registries.
In OPEN聽Katrine will continue her scientific work, parallel to management of administrative tasks.
