Di Wu is an Assistant Professor 51±ľÉ« Robotics and a Fellow (Assistant Professor) at the Danish Institute for Advanced Study (DIAS). His research centers on surgical robotics, with a particular emphasis on robot-assisted minimally invasive surgeries for treating complex diseases. He integrates robotic technology, artificial intelligence, and augmented reality to develop innovative solutions that enhance surgical precision and improve patient outcomes.

With extensive research and development as well as management experience across multiple countries, Di Wu is committed to advancing robotic-assisted procedures and leading the transition toward autonomous surgical systems. His vision is to see these technologies widely adopted in hospitals, transforming patient care by reducing invasiveness, minimizing trauma, and accelerating recovery.

Before joining SDU, he earned a dual PhD in medical robotics from Delft University of Technology and KU Leuven through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions program. His journey in medical robotics began at Johns Hopkins University (JHU), where he first engaged in research in this field.
